Connecticut newspaper suggests revival of tolls

The Norwalk News suggests tolls be reinstated in Connecticut as the best way to finance road needs and manage traffic. Tolls were abolished on the major highway in the state, still known as the Connecticut Turnpike (I-95) in 1985 in a political response to tragic rear-ender accidents at the mainline toll plaza in Stratford in 1983. A family of seven had been burned to death in a fire in a van after a tractor-trailer ran into it in a toll plaza queue.
