Eight-fold increase in WV E-ZPass sales


In the first month after the toll increase West Virginia Turnpike sold about 2500 E-ZPass transponders, an eight-fold increase on normal monthly sales of around 300. Turnpike manager Greg Barr told his board this at their monthly meeting this week. On August 1st cash and external E-ZPass toll rates went up around 60%.

Delaware River Joint Bridge adds admin fee, cuts discounts to raise 7% more


Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) is imposing a $1/month administration fee and trimming discounts for E-ZPass electronic tolling in order to raise an extra $5m/yr to compensate for dropping traffic. That's about a 7% addition to toll revenue of $85m in 2007.

Eliminated on January 1 will be:

- 20% casual discount presently given to all E-ZPass transponder users

Illinois Tollway spars with Indiana concessionaire over commuter discounts - going to IAG


Illinois Tollway are strongly protesting commuter discounts planned on the Indiana Toll Road when transponder tolling begins later this year. Under present plans the ITR concession company will only offer discounts to holders of Indiana I-Zoom accounts, not to motorists with Illinois' I-PASS or eastern states E-ZPass accounts and transponders.
