Oklahoma Turnpike Authority would be required by law to exempt "emergency vehicles" from tolls under a bill proceeding through the Oklahoma House of Representatives. The bill HR2533 also bars tolls on police even when not on duty.

Throgs Neck Bridge between Bronx and Queens NY City was closed much of today by a fire that raged in construction materials and temporary works that are part of a deck replacement project. The fire broke out about 5am, an hour after a night construction shift ended.

A gasoline tanker truck rolled over and caught fire on the New Jersey Turnpike north off ramp of IC16W at NJ3 in East Rutherford in the Meadowlands, Thursday Nov 20, 3pm. The tanker had the standard 8500 gallons (32k liters) of gasoline aboard and the plume of smoke sent up by the fire could easily be seen from all over Manhattan 10km (6 miles) and more away.
