Heavy rains in NE cause closures of roads, bridges

Prolonged and often heavy rains over eastern Pennsylvania and adjacent portions of neighboring states have seen some local flooding and road closures this week. Three lower bridges of the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) were closed Thursday because approach roads were under water. On the Pennsylvania Turnpike a 39 mile, 63km segment between east Harrisburg (MP247) and south Reading (MP286) was closed to traffic too.

Many NE highways including pikes dangerous, slow, a few closed in big wild snowstorm

The wild winter storm in the northeast US is causing major disruptions to highway travel including tollroads. Worst hit seem to Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York states but the storm seems to be dumping snow amid very high gusty winds all the way from Michigan in the west to Maine in the far northeast and down to West Virginia.
