Allen Clemson North Texas chief exec status shaky (PERSONNEL)


Local reports are that Allen Clemson's position as executive director (ED) at North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is shaky. If he is pushed out he would join a couple of other of short lived EDs - Jorge Figueredo (2007-2009), Allan Rutter (2005-2007).

NTTA has also had a high turnover of other senior staff including legal officers and public information officers.

NTTA suspects IT group of fraudulent refunds


North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) report they recently discovered evidence of several IT (information technology) staff being engaged in thievery of upwards of $300k via fraudulent refunds from toll authority monies.

Dallas TX area to go cashless by year's end, Miami HEFT next spring


Major moves toward cashless tolling will be made this year and next, with the largest conversions to all-electronic tolling (AET) on major toll systems in Texas and Florida. In the Dallas area North Texas Tollway (NTTA) plan to collect their last cash tolls before the end of this year. NTTA already has two major all-electronic tollroads operating: President George Bush Turnpike and Sam Rayburn Tollway.

As NTTA goes AET/cashless on the road it moves to have more cash options off-road


North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) has engaged cash stores operator ACE Cash Express to provide walk-in options for NTTA customers to pay their video toll - local brand is "ZipCash" - invoices. The ACE Express stores and cash machines will also allow north Texas tollroad users to open and load cash-backed transponder accounts locally branded TollTag.
 
Customers will be able to use the ACE Cash Express stores and machines to:

North Texas toller in transition move to AET


North Texas Tollway will in future bill all non-transponder reads initially as a video toll under their ZipCash brand for camera-generated tolls sent in the mail. Violation notices will no longer be sent directly for trips through open road toll lanes where there is still cash collection alongside.
