Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority's executive director, Mike Snyder brought forward his departure date to December 29 under pressure from area mayor Teresa Jacobs. Meeting today the 5-person board of directors accepted his resignation. He'll get three months severance pay of just under $82k plus an annual pension of $70k. He turns 65 on March 7 next year and initially proposed to stay until then.
Orlando-area Mayor Teresa Jacobs has sent a memo to fellow directors of the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA) proposing they replace current chief executive Michael Snyder Dec 29 and install a county Comptroller Jim Moye as interim chief. Jacobs has said Snyder is responsible for putting the toll authority in a parlous financial condition by gambling with longterm financing based on short-term variable interest rate debt rollovers.
Mike Snyder executive director of the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority says he's resigning effective March 7 next, his 65th birthday. Orlando Orange County mayor Teresa Jacobs is on a campaign to force out Mike Snyder as chief executive of the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA.) Mike Snyder executive director at the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA) has gotten good scores from three of four directors in an annual performance review conducted by the board of directors. This follows weeks of speculation in the local media that portrayed his job as seriously in doubt, portraying Snyder as "in the hot seat" - apparently an allusion to the electric chair once used in execution of murderers?
The new Michigan Governor Rick Snyder (Republican) has transformed himself in his short few weeks in office from a bridge skeptic to a bridge booster - for the new public-private toll bridge downstream of the Ambassador Bridge. The Governor's press office has taken to putting out statements of support for the new bridge by outside groups and keying them to Snyder's new advocacy line.
The salaries paid to Mike Snyder Orlando toll's executive director and other senior staff came under fire at the first meeting of a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) from the committee chairman, former senator Dan Webster. Webster said he had identified over $600k/year in salary cuts needed at the Orlando Orange County (Toll) Expressway Authority, singling out executive director Mike Snyder.
