RFI: TxDOT Ancillary Facility


TxDOT is seeking information that may assist in the development, construction, and operation of an ancillary facility in support of toll roads in Central Texas. For this Request for Information (RFI), an ancillary facility is defined as facilities and services provided on a toll road through the lease of right-of-way for the purpose of providing toll customer support services including a gas station, garage, store, hotel, restaurant, railroad tracks, utilities and telecommunications facilities and equipment.

2012-06-11: The drive for national interoperability in electronic toll collection is focussing increasingly on the ISO 18000 6C standard (6C) so far only implemented in states relatively smaller in tolling - Georgia, Washington, Colorado and Utah. A 6C User Group comprising tollers in the four early 6C adopter states has ensured that it will be the first toll technology to go to independent certification under OmniAir.

Illinois Tollways starts procurement of new toll system


The Illinois Tollway has issued a Request for Information (RFI) as the first step to procuring a new toll system. Kristi Lafleur, executive director told us on the telephone today that the Tollway hopes to get more flexibility and more capability from a new toll system.
