British authorities are hiring consultants to do the detailed planning for all-electronic or 'freeflow' tolling (AET) on the country's largest volume toll facility, the Dartford Crossing across the River Thames east of London.

The Illinois Tollway and the village of Rosemont celebrated the opening today of a new all-electronic toll (AET) ramp for northbound motorists on the Tristate Tollway I-294 at Balmoral Avenue near O'Hare International Airport.

Puerto Rico's toll roads are moving by stages to almost cashless tolling. This July 29 coin machines were removed from two of the island state's tollroads (PR52 and PR53) in a toll system upgrade that began last November. This was Phase 1 of a project to progressively improve the efficiency of toll collection on all the tollroads.

The Maine Turnpike Authority will not be submitting to the Feds the Violette-era response on the proposed new York toll plaza. Paul Violette's successor as chief executive Peter Mills has decided it would be prudent to take time for a full review of the Turnpike's old proposals before they go back to the US Army Corps of Engineer

The York toll plaza is the Turnpike's busiest and collects some 40% of total tolls on the Turnpike.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission says it is proceeding to construction of an all-electronic toll (AET) interchange on the mainline of the Turnpike northwest of Philadelphia. The project is located near PA29 about the middle of a 14 mile (23km) long stretch of the Turnpike between the Downington (MP312) and Valley Forge (MP326) interchanges.

Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) have set July 2010 for the end of cash collection on their Selmon Expressway also known as the Crosstown. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has announced details of the new interchange it's building on the Northeast Extension (I-476) in the Pocono Mountains at PA903 near Penn Forest Township/Albrightsville, seat of House Majority Whip Keith McCall.
