French-headquartered infrastructure and services developer Egis Projects, whose subsidiaries manage over 1.2 million toll tag subscribers across Europe, has acquired Transpass, which provides trucking companies in over 20 European countries with toll registration and payment systems.

French-headquartered infrastructure and services developer Egis Projects, whose subsidiaries manage over 1.2 million toll tag subscribers across Europe, has acquired Transpass, which provides trucking companies in over 20 European countries with toll registration and payment systems.

Transpass, headofficed in Holland has contracts with TollCollect (Germany), Asfinag (Austria), Telepass (Italy), ViAxxes (France and Spain) and viaTOLL (Poland) involving both transponders and bankcard accounts.

Egis say they are #1 European road operator


Egis say that following three acquisitions and the award of several new concessions they are now the Number One toll road operator and service provider in a bunch of countries.

Egis Road Operation recently acquired a 67% interest in three Irish tollroad companies:

-  NorthLink operator of the M1 Dundalk Bypass, 56km long

- MidLink operator of the M7/M8 Portlaoise pike, 43km long

Egis say their all-electronic tolling on Golden Ears Bridge helping Olympic Games traffic


Egis say in a statement today that their all-electronic tolling (AET) - they call it "free-flow tolling" - on the Golden Ears Bridge in the Vancouver metro area has worked smoothly through increased Olympic Games traffic so far. They call it "a touch of French expertise around the Olympic Games."
