Mudslides Wednesday morning (12/22) on the 241 Toll Road have required the closure of the pike in both directions between the 133TR and the Santiago Canyon Road - close to 261TR (see map below.) This is a central section of the inland tollroad formally named the Foothill/Eastern Toll Road, and located in Orange County southeast of Los Angeles (LA).

50 inches of snow (1.27m) at the weekend and driving winds closed H402 Monday stranding thousands of motorists in their vehicles on the Ontario approach highway to the Blue Water Bridge. Canadian and US officials closed the bridge Tuesday eastbound to long-distance trucks to prevent them adding to the congestion on H402 in Ontario. The US approaches to the bridge on I-69 and I-75 are backed up with trucks for many miles.

San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge was closed Tuesday evening and remained closed today after steel girders and plates collapsed onto the upper deck of the two level span. The debris was part of patchwork repairs made September 5 through 7 after cracks had been discovered in the truss structure of the old span.

This old span is in process of being replaced with a new cable stayed bridge going up alongside.

The Ohio Turnpike was closed in its central section Friday night and into Saturday due to wild weather. A series of thunderstorms with winds of 80km/hr blew debris onto the Turnpike including the roof of a nearby barn. High voltage power lines were downed near Mile Post 140 in Lorain creating a serious hazard.

Local reports say both "lanes" of the Turnpike were closed.

Both? The Turnpike has six lanes.

Several miles of the southern end of the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) will be closed this weekend starting just before midnight Saturday night through all of Sunday and until 5am Monday morning. Contractors for the North Texas Tollway Authority will swing in beams for a new longer Cedar Springs Road Bridge they are building just north of the Wycliff Toll Plaza (#1).
