The I-15 Express Lanes north of San Diego CA are now 20 miles, 32km long. With little fanfare they opened a new 4 mile section today at the northern end this week (2012-01-16) extending 16 miles in operation since 2009. An original 8 miles was built initially as a reversible high occupancy (HOV) lane in the 1980s.

Completion of the blocked 241 tollroad of Orange County California looks just a little closer following an okay from the City of San Juan Capistrano in the path of the planned final leg to I-5.

Plans advance for further extensions of the Dallas North Tollway taking it closer to the Oklahoma border. North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) have scheduled public meetings for discussion of alternate alignments for Phase 4B/5A. The area of study is in Collin, Denton and Grayson counties and between FM428 and FM121.

NE Texas RMA, the toll authority in the Tyler area says it's now proceeding with Segment 5 of its Toll 49 road, previously known as Loop 49. This will extend the tollroad east another 4km (2.5 miles) from its present terminus at FM756 to TX110. The extension for which design work is complete is estimated to cost $20m.

North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) are breaking ground on the farthest east portion of the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) Thursday Aug 21 in a ceremony for local bigwigs wielding bright shovels and silly looking hardhats over suits. At least it is scheduled for a sensible 9am before the fierce Texas summer sun rises too high in the sky.

Dallas North Tollway (DNT) Extension 3 to US380 is due to open this September, the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) says. The extension is 15.5km (9.6 miles) long and three main lanes each direction plus frontage lanes. Frontage lanes are now open the whole length of the roadway works.

Derech Eretz Consortium (DEC) has negotiated a northward extension of their concession for the Cross Israel Highway (CIH). DEC will finance construction of an extra 18km (11 miles) northward from the present terminus of the CIH, taking it closer to Haifa and the Galillee. The segment is called Section 18 of the project an is estimated to cost $210m.

Miami Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) is preparing to open an extension to its State Highway 836 (FL836) or Dolphin Expressway, and major improvements to toll collection nearby. The Extension takes the FL836 on from its present western terminus at Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike (HEFT) to NW137 Avenue.
