Ronald R Gravino former chairman and CEO of the New Jersey Highway Authority looks like getting back in the toll business as a new commissioner of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. He has been nominated by NJ Governor Christie. A finance/turnaround consultant Gravino has since done work for Invidi, a targeted TV marketing startup, and the big pharmaceutical company Squibb.
He is presently chairman of the Newark Liberty Airport board.
A selection committee has recommended Kristi Lafleur as the new executive director of the Illinois Tollway. Chairman of the Tollway board Paula Wolff said the selection committee was unanimous in favoring Lafleur as ED, out of five finalists for the position.
She is the first woman to be in charge of the Tollway and, at 35, must be one of the youngest.
The Illinois Tollway quest for a new executive-director has generated controversy in Chicago and Boston - in Chicago because one of the five announced finalists is Kristi LaFleur, an aide to the state governor Pat Quinn. She is his deputy chief of staff for economic development and recovery. And the Tollway job search has caused a stir in Boston because another finalist is former Massachusetts Turnpike chief Matt Amorello.

Illinois State Toll Highway Administration, commonly known as the Illinois Tollway, is conducting a recruitment for a new executive-director (ED). Applications and resumes are being accepted Feb 8 through 24. The past couple of years have been tumultuous at the Tollway following the impeachment and removal from office of the state governor Rod Blagojevich. (CORRECTION)
Jim Crawford, the blunt spoken executive-director of the E-ZPass Inter Agency Group (IAG) will step down from his position at the country's leading electronic toll collection cooperative when his employment contract expires in late May 2010. The search has begun for his successor.
