CO/E-470 runs prize of $250 of tolls to promote sticker tags


Denver Colorado's E-470 toll authority is offering a prize of $250 toll credits for a lucky electronic toll enrollee in their new sticker tags. The toller is swapping out hardbody California T21 protocol transponders for the ISO 18000 6C sticker tags. EXpressToll is the brand-name used for new as well as old transponders.

NTTA does promotion with CowboysTag - debuted by football legend


Dallas toller NTTA is putting out what it calls a 'limited edition Dallas Cowboys TollTag'  - a TransCore ISO 18000 6B tag identical in form factor and function to all the regular TollTags out there but with the Cowboys 'iconic star' star printed on it.  On a silver background (see real size pic nearby.)

Central Texas using scratch cards to solicit transponder accounts in run up to cashless Dec 1


Tollers in Central Texas are using a novel kind of flyer to get out the message about the end of cash tolling - scratch cards. The cards offer free transponder toll miles as prizes in an effort to publicize and recruit new transponder users. Over 80% of transactions on their 183A tollroad northwest of Austin are already by TxTag sticker tag transponders, but they want to boost that number further by December 1 when remaining cash lanes are closed for good.

French toller Cofiroute offering romantic weekend getaway prizes in transponder promotion


French tollroad operator Cofiroute is running a lottery with "romantic weekend" getaways and zero tolls as prizes for those who sign up for an electronic toll transponder in a 4 week drive this winter. Telepeage and 'libert-t' are the transponder account brandnames.

Says the ad: "Jouez... et gagnez peut être un week-end romantique!!!" (Their exclamation marks, not ours)

"Your toll is on the House" - on Maxwell House (+FOLLOWUP)


"Your toll is on the House" said the signs, being a teaser for the toll being on Maxwell House. Toll takers in eight metro areas were recruited as temporary salesmen for the Kraft Foods coffee brand.
