Cofiroute hires Chris Burke from SANDAG (PERSONNEL)
Cofiroute USA has hired former San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) officer and business analyst Chris Burke as their new VP Business Development. Burke, now 38, was heavily involved in SANDAG's I-15 toll managed lanes implementation and operations and in managing the regulatory regime for regional tolling policy in California's southernmost metro area.
Gary Hausdorfer, CEO of Cofiroute USA based in Irvine CA is quoted in a statement: "We've seen increased interest in both the planning and development of new toll roads and HOT lanes through public-private partnerships. Chris will manage existing relationships and pursue new ones as the toll road industry expands to meet critical infrastructure needs throughout the country, which have been hindered by state and federal budget constraints. His industry expertise and experience with SANDAG will be invaluable in advancing our growth plans."
France-based Cofiroute was pioneer of toll managed lanes in the US with their concession build of the 91 Express Lanes in the Los Angeles area opening the very end of 1995.
Cofiroute USA still operates the 91 Express Lanes. Their contract was recently renewed for another five years. They also run MnPass the Minneapolis area toll lanes, and were one of the companies in the Alliance for Toll Interoperability's recent 'hub' toll transaction demonstrations.
