Legislation for tollroad bypass for Boulder City NV approved
Enabling legislation for the tollroad bypass around Boulder City Nevada passed this week opening the way for procurement of a
concessionaire. The 15 mile, 24km 2+2 lanes expressway project has been promoted by Joe Hardy, Republican state Assemblyman for Boulder City, but has been blocked a a number of times previously by populist anti-toll Democrats.
Local reports are that late in the session the bill (Senate Bill 506) passed. The state governor Brian Sandoval supports the project. It will provide a full expressway link between US93 in the southeast portion the greater Las Vegas area and the spectacular O'Callaghan-Tillman Bridge over the Colorado River into Arizona.
This is the main highway between Phoenix AZ and Las Vegas NV and is spoken of as a $400m project.
