NY/NJ E-ZPass customers now talking to Xerox employees - ACS bought by copier co
Shareholders of Xerox and ACS both gave their approval today to the copier company's buy
of ACS, the leading customer service provider for electronic tolling in the US. The vote was 96% in favor among Xerox stockholders and 86% among the owners of ACS. Headofficed in Dallas TX ACS is described as the "world's largest diversified business process outsourcing firm."
The announcement says ACS is a $6.5b company with 78k staff, operates in 100 countries, grew revenue 6% and signed another $1b in annual revenue last year.
"By endorsing this acquisition, ACS shareholders have shown that the time is right to bring our business to the next level of global expansion," said Lynn Blodgett, president and chief executive officer of ACS is quoted.
"Xerox gives us the brand recognition, global scale and innovation to strengthen our industry leadership. We'll now be able to create more opportunities for our clients to simplify the way they conduct their business."
Xerox is headquartered in Norwalk CT on the eastern edge of the New York metro area.
"Our shareholders' vote of confidence reflects the strategic and financial benefits of this acquisition," Ursula M Burns, Xerox chief executive officer is quoted.
"Through the acquisition of ACS, Xerox gains a growth catalyst that secures a strong, competitive future for our company and increasing value for our customers and shareholders."
No word yet on whether the ACS name continues or whether the Xerox brand will be the new player in toll system integration and back office toll collection.
