Neology wins second round of 6C sticker tag EVR contracts in Mexico
Neology continues to dominate as a supplier of ISO 18000 6C sticker tag technology for Mexico's electronic vehicle registration
(EVR). The first of REPUVE's Phase 2 contracts for readers and software has gone to Neology of San Diego over its main competitor Sirit. The contracts provide for supply of roadside readers and handhelds to the police of the states of Campeche, Tamaulipas and Nayarit.
REPUVE is the federal motor registry.
Value of the contract depends on volumes of equipment ordered, says Eric Redman a spokesman for Neology.

Meanwhile the EVR tags themselves are being shipped by the hundreds of thousands under a Phase 1 contract won by Neology about a year ago for a total of 30 million EVR tags.
Redman says there are some moves in Mexico to use a common tag for tolling and EVR, but nothing firm yet.
TransCore is a major toll system supplier.
TransCore's super eGo tag is based on ISO 18000 6B, an earlier standard than the 6C, and is widely used for tolling in Texas (TxTag), Florida (SunPass Mini), Georgia 400, and Washington state.
Principal shareholder of Neology based in San Diego CA is the Mexican Pegaso Group chaired by prominent Mexican businessman Alejandro Burillo Azcárraga. The company has manufacturing plants on both sides of the border. Grupo Pegaso is a leading wireless telephone company in Mexico.
