Likely next prime minister of Britain, David Cameron says he favors great use of toll financing for specific roads. The Conservative Party candidate for prime minister said the one major tollroad built
in recent times in Britain M6Toll near Birmingham has been "a great success" and that it was a "Conservative idea."
He was speaking in a BBC interview.
Cameron said the Labour Government's proposed generalized road pricing - he characterized it as "eye in the sky" for its reliance on satellite location GPS - was not going to work. He added quickly "but separate road tolls..." implying they were a different matter.
