Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge Dallas TX opens August 1
North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) are due to open their sixth toll facility,
Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge August 1. The bridge is part of a 22km (14 mile) east-west surface arterial route between I-35E on its western end and Dallas North Tollway on its eastern end. Apart from the bridge the route is untolled and is being built by TxDOT Denton County and local cities, Frisco and Little Elm.
The toll bridge is 2.7km (1.7 miles) long plus another segment over a floodway. It is 4 lanes wide.
The bridge's centerpiece is a 110m (360ft) long steel through-arch center span. Groundbreaking on the bridge was Jan 2007, although the arch only began installation at the beginning of this year.
The NTTA has spent $122m on the Lewisville Lake Bridge project and TxDOT, and local governments are spending a similar sum widening the connecting arterial Eldorado Parkway (Route 720) from mostly 2 lanes
to 4 and 6 lanes surface divided.

Tolling for cars at the bridge will be $1.00 with a Texas system transponder (TollTag, TxTag etc) or $1.50 for camera or video tolls (brandnamed ZipCash) - all-electronic tolling (AET).
