Florida's Turnpike manager arrested with others in $4m fraud

An accounting manager in Florida's Turnpike Enterprise finance department, Michelle Worley was arrested  at lunchtime today at the Turnpike's Turkey Lake head office complex, accused of being a participant in a $4m fraud in a sideline business.

She and two men with no connection to the Turnpike are charged with using a title company they ran called Preferred Alliance Title to steal $4m from a client Stewart Title Guaranty.

They are accused of tampering with bank statements of the company they were thieving from to cover up the losses.

A Turnpike spokesman says there is no indication Worley was involved in wrongdoing in her work at the Turnpike.
