Rhode Island RFQ for traffic and revenue consultant for up to four studies (ADVERTISEMENT)

Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority (RITBA) is seeking qualifications from traffic and revenue consultants for an important set of investment grade studies. RITBA operates the tolled Newport/Pell Bridge and maintains the Mount Hope Bridge, both major suspension spans.

The Authority faces significant rehabilitation expenditures on the Pell Bridge, and has not increased toll rates in many years.

Multiple traffic and revenue studies are proposed, covering both RITBA and RIDOT facilities:

- Newport/Pell Bridge tolls

- RITBA may reinstitute tolls on the Mount Hope Bridge to provide the funding needed for its capital program

- Tolls may also be put on the Sakonnet River Bridge currently under construction by Rhode Island DOT and scheduled to open in 2014

- RITBA and RIDOT are jointly seeking study of possible tolls on I-95 at the Connecticut and/or Massachusetts borders

There is a pre-bid conference at RITBA offices or by telephone conference call March 16 at 10:00am. Proposals are due April 2 and an Award will be made in the week of April 13.
