Penn powerbroker Vince Fumo cusses Philly reporter in email

Longtime powerbroker in the Pennsylvania state senate Vincent Fumo on trial for corruption in federal court in Philadelphia used some Blagojevich style language about a Philadelphia Daily News reporter Erin Einhorn in an email picked up by the Feds. The email was introduced in the trial today as an exhibit.

Fumo emailed his press spokesman Gary Tuma:

"Call the guy who replaced [Daily News Editor] Zack [Stalberg] and ask why this fucking bitch (Einhorn) is on our ass.

"And let him know that she might have secret information from the Grand Jury and if so she is committing a crime and we will not tolerate that.

"And tell him that we are disappointed because we expect more from the Daily News."

Tuma argued back, saying a complaint to the News before a story was written would "just make them think the story is hotter."

Einhorn who wrote early reports of Fumo's corruption said today this was a proud moment: "When Vince Fumo calls you a f---- bitch, you must be doing it right."

Fumo aide Ruth Arnao, wife of Mitchell Rubin chairman of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is on trial along with Fumo on multiple counts of thievery.
