LA County Metro RFI/RFQ for I-10, I-110 HOT Lanes (ADVERTISEMENT)


LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking information and qualifications for supply of toll systems, signage, customer service and transponders for 81 lane-miles (130 lane-km) of HOT lanes on I-10 and I-110, some of the busiest freeways in the country. I-10 and I-110 High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes Project – Request for Information and Qualifications:

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) in cooperation with California Department of Transportation and the City of Los Angles will be implementing High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes on approximately 14 miles (48 lane miles) of I-10 east of downtown Los Angeles and approximately 16.5 miles (33 lane miles) of I-110 south of downtown Los Angeles.

Metro will be requesting information and qualifications from prospective contractors to provide a comprehensive, turnkey toll collection system, field equipment, operations, and maintenance including:

•    Roadside cashless, non-stop electronic toll collection hardware, system and maintenance with segment based dynamic pricing capabilities

•    Appropriate field infrastructure components and gantries for tolling hardware plus pricing and information signage.

•    Customer service center toll collection system and maintenance services

•    Customer service center and back office operations including account establishment, transponder distribution, account management, payment/violations processing, interfaces with Metro systems, and financial services.

•    Title 21 compliant transponders

Commencement of toll operations is currently scheduled for the end of 2010.
The request for information and qualification will be issued in February 2009.
