Faneuil owned by New York businessman Ronald Perelman (CORRECTION)
We have mistakenly described Faneuil, the company specializing in tolling customer service as a "largely
Canadian company." Like many companies it has a complicated history. It has its origins in Chicago IL and then moved to Boston MA in the 1990s where it adopted the name The Faneuil Group.
It was then bought up by Canadians and became a North American company in operations. At that point it was headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In February 2007 MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings which is wholly owned by New York businessman Ronald Perelman purchased the government services division of The Faneuil Group, and the rights to the Faneuil name. That was The Faneuil Group division conducting toll services in the US.
The remaining Canadian operations are operated under the corporate name Inspyre Solutions.
Under Perelman's MacAndrews & Forbes Holding Company the business with major customer service and toll collection contracts in Florida is known as Faneuil Inc.
The company also recently won a contract for customer service with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
Faneuil is headquartered in Hampton, Virginia.
Company president and chief operating officer is Anna Van Buren McNider, who has become a formidable personality in the US toll industry in recent years.
