Carson of Turnpike Commission says "strident advocacy" shows we're "held hostage" by "desperate" corporate interests
We received this email from Timothy Carson, vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission:
"Peter - The desperation of you and the corporate interests which clearly hold you hostage is palpable to all. With every new column, your strident advocacy for the "privatization at any cost" cause leaves in tatters any journalistic credibility you might otherwise retain. I continue to believe you are doing a grave disservice to the fledgling (and much needed) P3 movement. Tim."
Carson cited this lead from TOLLROADSnews: "3pm today (Friday May 16) was the deadline for best and final offers for a 75 year lease concession on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Before he had seen the final bids an official who knew about last week's initial round of bids said he expected the final offer today would be "better than Act 44 revenues but not by a great deal."

COMMENT: We're reporting there what we've been able to get on the bids.
The quoted "better than Act 44 but not by a great deal" is hardly a "strident" endorsement of anything.
No one holds us hostage.
Desperation? None here.
