Mitt 'Detailman' Romney tells his driver to switch lanes at the toll plaza - good judgment?
Dean Barnett in the WEEKLY STANDARD writes harshly about the Barackobamaites swooning over their
presidential candidate's "judgment."
Good judgment, Barnett notes, is mostly seen revealed in its absence - as in Obama's pastor disaster.
Barnett is a longtime Romney supporter and recalls on an election campaign driving the governor-to-be around Massachusetts toll plazas:
"(T)here was one time when I was driving Romney and he told me to hit the toll lane on the left rather than the one on the right. It turned out the one on the left did move faster. While that was a superior judgment call, I wouldn't put it at the top of Romney's resume."
Guess it just goes to show Romney is a details man. Or that Romney was just lucky. Often enough the shorter queue seems to be moving faster for a while, and then a driver up ahead has trouble finding their money or wants complicated directions from the toll collector, or has trouble with the coin machine, and it becomes the slow queue.
