Security specialist detects beam weapons on Penn Pike

It may look like a cantilevered sign gantry frame but don't let's be fooled so easily. Matt Neely, a security specialist thinks it has a resemblance to a Yagi antenna of the format that might be used in a directed energy weapon. He speculates that because it is pointing to the great white north this beam weapon is probably designed to fend off unfriendly Canadians.

Neely reports spotting a number of these bulky Yagi antennas on a recent reconnoitre of the Pennsylvania Turnpike - all of them pointing north.

We suggest Neely has been misled by the direction.

Engineers consulted by TOLLROADSnews suggest the Brimmeier Beam Weapon (BBW) can easily be rotated on its vertical mounting pole allowing it to be swung around and pointed at - for example - the Governor's residence in Harrisburg.

For that matter the BBW's northerly orientation could signal trouble for foes well short of Canada - those along I-80 who have been giving Turnpike Commission officials such angst.

Imminent danger could loom for PTC targets, if we saw signs of a power hookup - via high voltage electric lines or perhaps wind power windmill 'farms' popping up nearby.
