State Rep Distel new Ohio Turnpike ED, Martinez to MDX, wanted desert ED (PERSONNEL)
The Ohio Turnpike Commission has formally voted in Democrat State Representative George Distel, 55, as their new executive director replacing Republican Gary Suhadolnik. Suhadolnik was asked to resign last month as part of the Republican-Democrat transition following the last elections.
After five terms Distel was being term-limited out of the state assembly at year's end.
Distel represented Conneaut in the northeast corner of the state. With a BA in history and political science he lists his career as in city, county and then state government.
Distel was named by the chairman of the Turnpike commission as his favorite for the job immediately Suhadolnik stepped down.
He gets a salary of $125k.
High Desert exec-director - to $200k![]()
The High Desert Corridor Joint Powers Authority wants to employ an executive director at a salary of up to $200k. HDJPA is a creation of the counties of San Bernardino and Los Angeles and several cities north of LA - with San Bernardino in the lead - to build an 80km (50 mile) east-west tollroad called E220 from CA14 to I-15 in the high desert country.

Miami Dade Expressway gets new director Louis V Martinez
Miami Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) has a new director, Louis V Martinez, partner in the law firm Alvarez & Martinez, a former prosecutor in the state attorney general's office. He is an appointee of the board of county commissioners, and is one of 13 directors.
