Ann Veneman President Bush’s new sec of agriculture is an attorney from the Sacramento office of Nossaman Gunther Knox & Elliott, the Los Angeles based law firm that does so much work in toll finance cases. Nossaman worked on envirnomental, agriculture and trade issues. Scott DeVries the managing partner in a letter to clients and friends says the company “celebrates the honor” bestowed upon Ann and the company. It was founded by Walter L. Nossaman (died 1964) and William E Gunther (died 1999) and has satellite offices in San Francisco, Irvine, Sacramento and Washington DC. Veneman had been a state sec of agric under governor Pete Wilson.

Now did we hear somewhere that maybe this firm advised the state govt on electric policy? Gawd what a libel!
