Floridas Turnpike apparently got an IBTTA award for the safety gate innovation. We were there but the IBTTA awards ceremony was so poorly staged no-one got an opportunity to learn anything about the innovations for which the awards were awarded just the promise of a booklet a few months later which has never turned up. The average suburban middle school choreographs its prize night better than IBTTA does its award ceremonies. All that happened was an announcement of the name of the recipient, then a long silent boring wait while each walked up to the podium for a handshake with the president, and a photo. That was it. No mention at all of the nature or detail of the innovation.
Why not give each recipient say 2 or 3mins to talk about their innovation, do a quick slide/video/powerpoint show, or whatever?
Anyway Chuck Elmore has made a CD-Rom and has hardcopy of their innovation (tel 850 877 7275)
