Will Washington DC be swept away?

It is a libertarian’s dream! A tsunami from the continental shelf sends a huge wave crashing over the flat eastern shore and sends a 20 to 30 foot tide surging up Chesapeake Bay and the Potomac River smashing and flooding large areas of DC, northern VA and Maryland. Marine geologists say they have found major new cracks in the continental shelf off Ocean City MD, plus huge releases of gas!

The high levels of gas are found well east of the Capitol, offshore a bit actually.

The geologists speculate that large collapses of submarine land in the cracked and degassing area offshore could produce a tsunami. The White House is even closer to sea level than the Capitol buildings, if that is reassuring? We’re heading for the hills to the north taking refuge in Bud Shuster country, looking for that ‘friend in of Pennsylvania’ that the license plates tells us we have.
