Brizzell dep-chief at Thruway

The New York State Thruway Auth today has appointed John T Brizzell as its new Deputy Executive Director and Chief Engineer to oversee its engineering, maintenance and operational activities. Brizzell succeeds Leonard DePrima who retired after 21 years at the Thruway. Brizzell, an engineer, is a veteran of the state DOT (26 years there) and was last regional director in Binghampton and in charge of 750 employees in six counties. He is credited with having pioneered the use of precast concrete products at NYSDOT and rubblizing pavement rehabilitation techniques.
