Americans, and Europeans and Asians and Africans have discovered that the automobile is the most effective surface trnasp system yet devised. Unlike all other modes it provides no-wait, no-transfer service...at tolerable cost. Where parking is available, as in most suburban settings, it provides door to door accessibility.
