One toll industry veteran told us: “I’ll believe Oklahoma is abandoning Amtech for Mark IV when someone tells me it’s approved by the board and signed and sealed in contract papers.” He said he has no doubt that the preferred system integrator TransCore and senior turnpike staff favor the switchover, but says the board will have the final say: “And they are notorious for wanting the low-cost solution, no matter what.” He thinks Amtech will be able to produce low cost numbers.
