“Unlike most commuters, President Clinton breezed into New York today as police cleared the highways for his motorcade and tollbooth operators waved him by without charge.” (AP Report 1/13/00) Which as they say, nowadays, raises various questions: what does a guy have to do in this new millennium to get a free ride on the NY State Thruway? And: what kind of message is the Thruway sending to the young people?
