IBTTA COMMENT:“You have it wrong”

With all due respect, you have it wrong in your September 1999 editorial, “IBTTA Slack on Policy.” I wish you would have called us before writing your opinion. I would have explained some of our programs that support the toll industry and individual agencies, including:

• Involvement in the national, and often international, debate on tolls through a formal advocacy policy. IBTTA maintains regular contact with legislative and regulatory officials at the national level on matters relating to infrastructure finance, electronic toll collection and related issues, and land border crossings issues.

• Provide members assistance on regional and local issues when requested.

• Respond to national and local media on toll financing issues.
