Lawrence (Larry) Yermack is heading south from PB HQ in NYC to Rockville Maryland to take over as president of PB Farradyne, the ITS subsidiary of Parsons Brinck. Yermack was elevated to a position called National Director of Toll Facilities Planning and Design Services only a few months ago. Regardless of his title he has worked on major toll industry issues at PB for several years, and says he will continue to take an interest in tolling. He was prominent in the long effort to explore ways of achieving interoperability in electronic tolling. He was involved in the early planning of E-ZPass as chief financial officer at the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority (MTA B&T) until 1994 when he joined PB. There he was involved in the ITSA DSRC standards making efforts which have recently come to a virtual conclusion - only partial success.
Farradyne is very big in traffic signal optimization development, traffic management centers and developing traffic simulation models.
