www.MayTheForceBeWithYou.com just changed hands for $6m we’re told. We’ll be happy to take a mere million, we have told an inquirer! We might also ask for some expenses, like $200k for our lawyer and $30 to reprint business cards, and of course transfer conditions that will assure the rights of our many cyberspace clients.

Seriously, this newsletter and TCA in California have a domain-name problem. No reports from TCA that thousands of you are trying to renew subs to TRnl via TCA. But considerable quantities of customer email intended for TCA is coming to us, because TCA has recently begun using the domain-name www.tollroad.com while it bills itself Toll Roads with an ‘s’ and indeed operates three – the San Joaquin Hills, the Foothill and the Eastern toll roads. We’re getting a real education in customer service gripes in southern California. Many TCA customers thinking they are emailing their tollster get a reply:

“Dear Sir/Madam, I am not a toll road or toll roads but a newsletter about toll roads. Please note that the TCA’s email is @tollroad.com.... not tollroadS.com” etc Meanwhile we are forwarding the TCA’s email to TCA as best we can, though if it goes on much longer we’ll have an excuse for being a week late publishing the next issue.

Anyway we’ve registered www.tollroadsnews.com as a new domain name preparatory to disposing of www.tollroads.com Any offers out there before we sign up with Christie’s of London tollroads@aol.com
