USDOT vision and vigilance

Remarks prepared for delivery by Rodney Slater, US Sec Transp for ATA breakfast Jun 18 99: “The visionary and vigilant Department of Transportation is committed to working with the growing trucking industry for the new century and the new millenium.”

COMMENT: Somehow we think that new century and that new millennium would arrive even if it weren’t for the USDOT’s “great vision and vigilance.” What won’t diminish we fear with the coming of Y2K will be the political speechwriters’ output of pap.
