PROMOTION
Manuel VP
MARK IV Industries the leading supplier of electronic toll (ET) equipment in North America has promoted marketing manager Paul Manuel to a VP of the IVHS Division. The president of the company David Oliver said in an announcement that this was a result of his past and ongoing efforts in the development of IVHS business. Mark IV turned the US industry upside down in 1994 when it beat Amtech out of the premier toll market in the northeast US NY, NJ, PA, DE and then added nearby states such as VA and MD. In IL and MA other ET systems are now being removed for Mark IV systems. The companys 5 year contractual lock on its base Inter Agency Group (NY, NJ, PA, DE) market expires April next. Despite its dominance here it has made no moves to sell its ET products outside N. America. The IVHS division is based in Mississauga ON in the Toronto area but it is part of a mainly US owned auto parts company based in New York state. (IVHS stands for Intelligent Vehicle Highway System, a term many others have replaced with ITS.)
