VERBAL ATROCITY Adverbicide on the Penna pike

Entering the Philadelphia area on the mainline of the Pennsylvania Turnpike from the west there is repaving underway and motorists are greeted with a large variable message sign which reads “DRIVE SAFE IN WORK AREA”. To make things worse the adjective “SAFE” flashes rapidly on and off. We’re not sure if adverbicide is a crime in PA, but it darn well should be.
