Anti-toll concession forces in Texas got another signatory this afternoon to their concession moratorium bills - Trey Martinez Fischer of San Antonio. The freezers are now only one vote short of getting the 100 they need to override a Rick Perry veto in the state house of representatives.

They have been undertaking an intense campaign of telephone calls and emails to the offices of wavering pols. There is an election scheduled this fall and the freezers threaten to organize campaigns of vilification against holdouts.

The freezers had the Senate wrapped up 25/31 March 6 when former toll concession champion and Texas Transportation Commissioner Sen Robert Nichols defected and filed the freeze bill SB1267 - identical to HB2772.

Gov Rick Perry has said he will veto the freeze bill but two-thirds majorities in both houses can override the governor's veto and make it law.
