Other failures occur through vulnerability to departures from the "normal." But inability to service debt is most often due to disappointments about cash flow.
2013-10-04: Secure Interagency Flow LLC (SIF) the HUB operator for the Alliance for Toll Interoperability (ATI) hopes to begin operations matching transactions as soon as November, according to the executive in charge Rosa Rountree, who says they are now open for enrollment. Rountree was speaking at a webinar organized by ATI Friday.
The 47 mile $1.3 billion Illiana Expressway toll project on the southern fringe of the Chicago metro area survived its first test following a highly critical analysis plus a metro planning staff recommendation that it be rejected. By a vote of 10 to 7 but with 5 abstentions and 6 absentees the Illiana was supported at the Transportation Committee of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) Friday.
MDX to have another go at hiring new system integrator for all-electronic tolling on the big 836 and 112 tollroads
2013-10-01: Officials of the Miami Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) say they plan to cancel the all-electronic toll conversion procurement they launched in the summer and start again with a revised Request for Proposals (RFP.) First time up, only one system supplier, TransCore, had submitted on the date due, September 10.
TransCore making moves on national IOP - enhanced eZGo Anywhere tag and nationwide account management
2013-09-30: TransCore is proposing an enhanced version of its multi-protocol eZGo Anywhere transponder as a major vehicular platform for national interoperability plus the option of account management at a national level. Company president Tracy Marks has put the proposal to the Alliance for Toll Interoperability (ATI) in a letter their board of directors is considering this week.
Chicago metro planning staff report pans the Illiana Expressway - too remote, little benefit, risky, $1 billion subsidies needed to attract investors
2013-09-27: The governors of Illinois and Indiana were talking up the importance of the Illiana Expressway tollroad at a tri-state 'summit' today in downtown Chicago at the same time as two versions of a critical assessment surfaced from staff of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). The Illinois DOT has formally asked CMAP to endorse the Illiana Expressway as part of the CMAP longterm plan (called 'GO TO 2040.')
Vancouver BC to replace Massey tunnel with toll bridge on H99 at lower Fraser River + big-mouth bragging
2013-09-26: Following alternatives analysis and public consultation the premier of British Columbia Christy Clark has announced they'll be replacing the Massey Tunnel on Highway 99 (H99) with a wider bridge. She called the tunnel which is the furthest westerly crossing of the Fraser River in the Vancouver metro area "the worst bottleneck" to traffic in the region.
2013-09-25: Indiana and Illinois departments of transportation (DOTs) will each take sole charge of that portion of the proposed Illiana Expressway within their territory. Each state will do separate procurements of public private partnerships (P3s) to get the toll expressway built. Requests for Qualifications will be issued this fall.
Indiana DOT says there will be two separate toll concessions to conform with the legal framework of each state.
2013-09-24: North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) are making a host of changes to the way they bill and pursue image-based or V-tolls. These are designed to make early payment of tolls more attractive, reduce the amount of unpaid tolls, and to conform with Texas legislation enacted this summer against habitual violators (SB1792).
