2013-10-24: Maryland's Inter County Connector saw strong growth in traffic in the spring this year achieving solid 40,000 vehicles/weekday patronage over three of five segments with overall traffic at 187,000/weekday adding transactions in all five segments or 37,000 average weekday numbers per segment. May thru' August the numbers haven't substantially changed, but compared with same-month-a-year-back the traffic is up a solid 20% to 25%.
2013-10-23: Governor Deval Patrick this week highlighted all-electronic tolling conversion on the Massachusetts Turnpike and announced a new $260 million project in Allston to take advantage of the closure of the several toll plazas there. He was making a major speech on his transportation policy initiatives at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.

2013-10-22: October 24 last year the Texas State Highway 130 segments 5 and 6 (TX130/5&6) opened for traffic southeast of Austin to I-10 near Seguin. 2013-10-21: Indiana state agencies have begun procurement of toll systems covering some 30 lanes on three bridges over the Ohio River in the Louisville KY/Southern Indiana metro area. Indiana Finance Authority is procuring a toll system provider (TSP) to integrate roadside equipment and a back office while Indiana DOT (INDOT) will buy multiprotocol readers and transponders in a separate electronic toll equipment procurement.

Dulles Toll Road (DTR) revenues are up 24% over last year according to a report to the monthly meeting of directors this week and heading to the $125m mark for the full year. The strong revenue is the result of toll rate increases and the strong willingness-to-pay of motorists in Northern Virginia's relatively affluent Fairfax and Loudoun counties.

The first FasTrak tolls were taken mid-morning October 16, 1993 at the mainline Portola Parkway South plaza on the first short 3.2 miles of the 241 Foothill/Eastern Toll Road in Orange County south of Los Angeles. Seeking $589m of 2047 senior lien 35-year bonds in mid-December 2010 we now know they based their financial plan on the same Stantec traffic and revenue forecasts published February 2007 and conducted in the pre-recession years 2005 and 2006.
