M6Toll's targeted pop-ups

People at their computer using an internet based mapping service called Multimap get M6Toll popup ads when they call up a map near the tollroad. For all the talk of the CEN-278 EU-standard transponder the greatest growth in electronic tolling by far in Europe is in use of non-standard Italian Telepass transponders. As of end-Sept 2003 Autostrade SpA reports 3.78m transponders in use, an increase of 16% since the beginning of 2003.
